Educational Programs

NetSmartz®:

NetSmartz® is an interactive, educational safety resource developed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America that teaches children and adults how to stay safe on the Internet.

Play it Safe!®:

Play it Safe!® is a child abuse awareness and prevention program that incorporates age-appropriate scripts and movies to teach children to recognize potentially abusive behavior. It also provides them with tools to respond to threatening situations and encourages them to report abuse to a trusted adult.

Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse:

This curriculum is designed for organizations seeking training for professionals working with children on a regular basis. Utilizing a video-based format, the Recognizing and Reporting curriculum educates child-serving professionals or volunteers on the basic issues of child abuse, how to recognize physical and behavioral signs of the varying forms of child abuse, and how to make a report.

Child Help Speak Up Be Safe®:

Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe is an evidence-based curriculum program with developmentally appropriate lessons for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to help students prevent, interrupt, and speak up about various types of child abuse.

General Presentations and Tours

General presentations and facility tours are conducted to raise awareness of the issue of child abuse, volunteer opportunities, and how the Scotty’s House team is serving the Brazos Valley. These presentations can range in length from fifteen minutes up to one hour.
