When a child is the victim of sexual abuse, Scotty’s House, child protective services, and the criminal justice community work together to provide a timely and appropriate response. To promote the coordination and teamwork needed to ensure such a response—and to minimize additional trauma to children—we have established a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) comprised of professionals from local law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, medical, counseling, and Scotty’s House staff.
The MDT Scholarship Fundraising Committee was established to help provide continued education in the field of child abuse investigations for MDT members.
