Scotty's House is the Child Advocacy Center of the Brazos Valley. Founded in 1995, it is our mission to provide services to abused children and their families, which bring comfort in times of crisis and lay a foundation for a healthy future.
Scotty's House was named for Scotty, son of Pediatrician Kathleen Burford. In March of 1982, seven months after being abducted from his daycare center, four-year-old Scotty was shot to death by his father, Dr. Phillip Linerode, as an FBI agent closed in to recover the abducted child. Linerode then turned the gun on himself.
Scotty's House is dedicated to the memory of Scotty, and all children who have suffered sexual or physical abuse.
