Scotty's House is the Child Advocacy Center of the Brazos Valley. Founded in 1995, it is our mission to provide services to abused children and their families, which bring comfort in times of crisis and lay a foundation for a healthy future.

Scotty’s House Child Advocacy Center of the Brazos Valley is inviting you, your company or organization to an unforgettable evening at this year’s “Sparkles & Spurs by the Fireside” 2012 Valentine’s Dinner Dance & Auction. This event will be held Sunday evening, February 12, 2012, at Traditions Country Club from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This event will be a dressy-denim, country setting, with a delectable Texas-style dinner buffet, topped off with dancing featuring Brazos Valley’s own Leanne Swenson and the Leannasaurus Rex Band.

On Monday, July 25th, Scotty’s House participated in the 2011 Texas A&M State Employee Charitable Campaign for United Way. Hundreds of TAMU employees visited the General Services Complex to learn more about how their donations are used by United Way partner agencies.

A one-day training will be held on a Saturday in July for our Ambassador Program. Scotty's House Ambassadors are responsible for representing Scotty's House at health fairs and various related events by distributing materials and answering questions about our services. Ambassadors also deliver presentations to various civic groups on behalf of Scotty's House in order to educate and inform the community about our services. Orientation and training is required. Scotty’s House will partner with the Children’s Museum to bring a Kids’ Area to the 2nd Annual Street Art Fair. There will be arts & crafts booths at the event for children, as well as information booths from local agencies. The event will be held at the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church parking lot at 217 W. 26th Street in Bryan from 10am until 4pm. The fair is free of charge and open to the public.

The Kappa Alpha Theta’s will hold their annual 5k with 100% of proceeds going to Scotty’s House and Voices for Children! The Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC), Voices for Children (CASA) and Scotty’s House will host the annual Candlelight Vigil in honor of all victims of sexual violence. The vigil is held in conjunction with the 5th Annual Every Victim Every Time Conference, and will take place at the A&M Church of Christ at 2475 Earl Rudder Freeway South in College Station at 5:30pm.

Scotty’s House and the Robertson County District Attorney’s Office will dedicate a tree on the Robertson County Courthouse Lawn in honor of the child victims of abuse and neglect in 2010.

In conjunction with the Downtown Bryan Art Step and First Friday events, the MSC Forsyth Gallery of Texas A&M University will host an exhibit of artworks created by child clients during therapy sessions at Scotty’s House. The exhibit will showcase the therapy services provided by Scotty’s House to abused children and their families and serves as a snapshot of the journey these children take on their path toward healing. This will be a six week exhibit. The Forsyth Gallery is located at 110 N. Main St. in Bryan.

Scotty’s House, the College Station Police Department, the Bryan Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office will be at the College Station Police Department, at 2611 S. Texas Ave., for the dedication of the Blue Ribbon Tree. 200 blue ribbons will be tied to branches of a tree in memory of the 200 children involved in abuse investigations through Scotty’s House last year in Brazos County alone.

Scotty's House and Voices for Children (CASA) staff and volunteers will "plant" the second annual Pinwheel Garden on the lawn at 4301 S. Texas Ave. in Bryan. 800 pinwheels will be planted in honor of the more than 800 child victims of abuse and neglect in the Brazos Valley in 2010.
