Since January of 2010, more than 500 children have walked through the doors of Scotty's House and found the courage to talk about the abuse they have endured at the hands of someone they know and love. Some of these children suffer from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV and AIDS, and they carry with them on their young bodies scars that will serve as permanent reminders of the horrors they have experienced. The bigger problem is that these are only the children we know about, because only one in ten children who experience sexual abuse will ever tell. That means that in our community right now, more than 4500 children have been sexually abused, or are still being abused, and they need our help.
Make your resolution for 2012 one to keep by making a difference in the lives of abused children. Your donation will help fund the programs and services that Scotty's House provides to abused children and their families in the Brazos Valley. Your gift will help support awareness campaigns aimed at reaching those 4500 children who need someone to save them.
